She is a trained educator and an excellent spokesperson for our city. She has been involved in building relationships with many new and existing businesses in town. She has been a leader in business and has a great understanding of the financial world. I've had the pleasure of knowing Judy Ensweiler for several years, as she and her husband Richard, past commander of The American Legion Holley riddle Post 21, have lived in The Colony for 21 years. Judy works for The Colony Chamber of Commerce, where she has been instrumental in growing the membership and helping chamber members connect for success. Judy is very involved in the community through her support of NTX Food Pantry, Metro Relief, Next Steps, United Way of Denton County, Love Pacs, New Hope Day Care Center, where she also serves on the board, as well as Theatre at The Colony. Judy has also served on the Keep the Colony Beautiful Board, is currently on The Camey grade school BLT, and has been delivering Meals on Wheels in the community for many years. Judy not only lives, works, and supports the nonprofits in the community, she also worships in The Colony and serves on the Senior Pastoral Review Committee of her church. Judy has demonstrated both in word and action her dedication and commitment to keeping The Colony great, which is why I wholeheartedly support her ambition to represent the community as the Place 1 representative replacing Kirk Mikeluc who is stepping down. I have had the pleasure of watching Judy serve The Colony community since I took office as Constable in 2005. She has demonstrated a selfless commitment to help others. Whether she is helping a local business owner in her role leading The Colony Chamber of Commerce, or as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, she is here to help. Heartwarming to hear the story of how her father, Sgt. Johnson, was building bridges as a member of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during WWII in France. And while her husband was serving those four years overseas, Mrs. Johnson worked as a clerk at a department store back stateside. Sgt. Johnson brought those construction skills back home after the war, and started Johnson Brothers, a family-owned construction contractor business serving their community. Those Midwestern values are what Judy will bring to The Colony City Council. I’m encouraging you to support Judy also, as early voting starts Monday October 18.

As a local business owner in The Colony, it's important to have a city councilperson who has collaborated with, and supports all local businesses. I have had the privilege of working closely with Judy at the Chamber of Commerce and her passion for small business success is unmatched. She works tirelessly to help small businesses with any of their needs. She was very instrumental in getting businesses information on how to get help from the local government during the Covid-19 pandemic. I have had the pleasure of knowing Judy since she was hired more than three years ago by The Colony Chamber Board of Directors to help the newly revived Chamber rise to the next several levels. Judy brought an experienced, caring, professional nature to the Chamber and, along with other very dedicated volunteer board Chamber members, grew the Chamber to well over 150 business members. Not only that, but with her experience and understanding of how the business world works, she was able to make the Chamber much more valuable for business members to belong to and grow their businesses.
Judy is very dedicated to using her knowledge and expertise to represent all City residents in helping make decisions that will continue to keep our City growing in the right direction. She values our City as being a growing community, but it is important to her to keep the small town atmosphere and feeling of community belonging intact. She has lived here for over 20 years and she has family who live here.
